Meet the Presenters

Carlos A. Carvalho
President, CTS Canadian Career College

Carlos A. Carvalho is the President and Chief Executive Officer of CTS Canadian Career College. He oversees the institution’s operations and strategic direction. He also serves on the board of Career Colleges Ontario.

Full Biography

Carlos Carvalho has dedicated his life to education, economic growth, and community development in Northern Ontario. Born in Portugal in 1959, he moved to North Bay, Ontario with his wife Maria after their marriage, 45 years ago. He built a legacy in career education that started in 1984 with one original campus into seven campuses between CTS Canadian Career College and Modern College of Hairstyling & Esthetics, employing over 300+ people across northern Ontario. A tireless advocate for the career college sector, he actively lobbies for fair policies to support students & workforce development. His leadership has transformed countless lives, reinforcing the vital role of the career college sector in Canada.

Christopher D. Lambert
Principal, BCC Advisory

Christopher D. Lambert is Principal of BCC Advisory and a nationally recognized expert in postsecondary accreditation, with decades of experience strengthening institutional quality, accountability, and performance across the career education sector.

Full Biography

Christopher D. Lambert has over 28 years of leadership experience in higher education, with a proven track record of advancing quality and accountability across the postsecondary career education sector. He has served in executive roles at two institutional accrediting agencies recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education: as Associate Executive Director of the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC), and as Executive Director of the Accrediting Council for Continuing Education and Training (ACCET).

Christopher has served on hundreds of accreditation visits, trained thousands of postsecondary education leaders on best practices, and supported over ten thousand accrediting agency actions. A recognized voice in higher education policy, Lambert has contributed to critical legislative and regulatory discussions at both the state and federal levels, including drafting testimony in regard to the Reauthorization of the Higher Education Act (2008) and representing the accreditation community before Congress and the National Advisory Committee on Institutional Quality and Integrity (2012-2021).

In 2022, Lambert co-founded BCC Advisory, a bespoke consultancy that equips institutional leaders with the strategies and insights needed to drive performance and sustain success. A nationally recognized speaker on accreditation matters, Christopher currently serves on the board of Campus Wise Advisors, a subsidiary of Career Education Colleges and Universities that offers specialized consulting support to higher education institutions nationwide.

Christopher holds a B.A. in History from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and an M.Ed. from the University of Virginia School of Education and Human Development.

Christina Furtado
Executive Director, Clinical Excellence & Strategy, GuardMe

Christina Furtado is a mental health and wellness specialist with GuardMe and an experienced psychotherapist who delivers practical, engaging approaches to mental health education, workplace wellness, and positive transformation across educational and professional communities.

Full Biography

Christina Furtado is the Executive Director, Clinical Excellence & Strategy with GuardMe. As a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), Furtado has devoted over two decades to empowering individuals and community leaders with her approach to creating opportunities for positive transformation and growth.

She is a sought-after speaker, online educator and consultant for several educational institutions and organizations worldwide. Furtado is also a certified facilitator for various Mental Health First Aid courses offered through the Mental Health Commission of Canada and a certified ASSIST instructor.

Using her background as an educator and her experience as a therapist, Furtado has fostered a bold alternative to traditional workplace wellness, bringing with her a track record of authenticity, integrity, inspiration and passion. She holds an M.A. degree in counselling psychology from Yorkville University.

Brynn Saretsky
Chief Operating Officer, Enriched Academy

Brynn Saretsky is the COO of Enriched Academy, bringing more than a decade of leadership in career-college operations and financial-literacy education. She specializes in building high-performing teams and delivering practical, student-centred programs that equip learners with real-world financial and career-readiness skills.

Brynn brings over a decade of leadership experience in the post-secondary and financial education sectors to her role at Enriched Academy — Canada’s leading financial-literacy education provider. As Chief Operating Officer, Brynn oversees the strategic and operational delivery of educational programs that equip students and young adults with practical money-management, credit, debt-repayment and career-readiness skills. Before joining Enriched Academy, Brynn served as Vice President of Operations at Campus Support, where she directed multi-campus performance across Canadian career colleges and led initiatives to streamline student services, enhance academic quality and strengthen regulatory compliance. Her background is distinguished by building high-performing teams, applying data-informed strategy, and fostering student-centred outcomes in dynamic educational environments. Brynn holds a Master of Arts from the University of British Columbia and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Victoria. She has also completed executive leadership certificates from both Harvard and Stanford. Committed to educational equity and lifelong learning, Brynn is passionate about empowering youth with the financial confidence and future-facing skills they need to thrive beyond graduation.

Leading the Financial Aid Team: Systems, Touchpoints, and Tough Conversations [2:00 PM EST | 12:00 PM MST | 3:00 PM AST]

Led by Rani Bajwa, Finance Manager at Medix College. This session explores how managers can build clear, consistent financial aid processes that support both staff and students. Discussion will cover creating structured touchpoints, aligning check-ins with key milestones, and using simple templates to guide students through repayment expectations. Participants will also consider how to prepare their teams for difficult conversations, recognize early red flags, and build a culture of proactive support.

Strengthening the Student Experience Through Financial Aid [2:45 PM EST | 12:45 PM MST | 3:45 PM AST]

With Brynn Saretsky, this session examines the full financial aid lifecycle and its impact on the student experience. Brynn will explore the psychology behind financial stress, the role of culture in shaping confidence and persistence, and how high-performing institutions deliver support that is proactive, structured, and human-centred. Participants will gain practical insight into strengthening financial aid practices that better align with student needs and long-term success.

The Connected College: How Student, Staff, and Leadership Wellbeing Shape Each Other [3:15 PM EST | 1:15 PM MST | 4:15 PM AST]

Led by Christina Furtado. Career college students are withdrawing. Staff are burning out. Leaders are exhausted. This interactive workshop offers a radical alternative: stop fixing students, start fixing systems. Learn neuropsychology, see interconnections, and discover five bold moves you can implement in 30 days.
