NACC Applauds the Government of Ontario for their support of Private Career College sector in Ontario

On March 10, the Government of Ontario made a significant commitment to training additional Personal Support workers in Ontario. NACC and CCO are pleased to be a major part of this initiative.

Recognizing our Partnership

“The National Association of Career Colleges applauds the Ford government for their continued leadership and support of our private career colleges as we train and graduate the next wave of personal support workers in the province. We are proud of what we have accomplished during COVID-19 and those accomplishments are built upon our partnership with the government of Ontario. Our private career colleges are ready for the challenge ahead.” – George Hood, Chair of NACC

“Private Career Colleges are critical to meet the pressing demand of local health care facilities and long-term care homes. With the re-launched financial support program announced today, Private Career Colleges can continue to provide our health care system with much-needed, well-trained workers in numerous communities across the province.” – Adrian Sharma, Chair of Career Colleges Ontario

Reflecting on First Friday

As we reflected on this news, we thought back to our First Friday event last month that featured the Honourable. Paul Calandra, Minister of Long Term Care, Minister of Legislative Affairs, and Government House Leader of Ontario.

We were struck that not only is the Government building capacity in the PSW community, but the Ford government is also committed to building increased capacity and improved long term care facilities in Ontario. The government is thinking long term for increased compensation, ongoing training opportunities for PSW’s and is working in true partnership with the Private Career College industry.

We thought we would share a few videos.
