NACC is excited to announce a partnership with Pallium Canada to offer the LEAP Personal Support Worker to our Member Colleges. This is an online, self-learning course, focused on the essential competencies to provide a palliative care approach.
“NACC members are proud of the work our graduates perform across Canada within the healthcare system,” said Michael Sangster, CEO of NACC. “The LEAP Personal Support Worker program is an opportunity to build their skills and create lifelong learning around Palliative Care. When combined with our Colleges’ own work, LEAP Personal Support Worker will extend learning for graduates long after they leave the College and enter into the healthcare system.”
“Personal support workers and care aides/assistants play an essential role in caring for patients with life-limiting illnesses, and their families, as part of an interprofessional health care team,” said Jeffrey Moat, CEO of Pallium. “This exciting partnership with the NACC will enable their members to offer palliative care education to students working to become personal support workers, care aides, and health care assistants across the country.”
