NACC Applauds the Government of Ontario for launching the Better Jobs program.

On April 25, the Government of Ontario announced the expansion of employment services. Offering up to $28,000 in tuition fees for short duration training programs.

Today, the Ontario Government announced the launch of a new training program, Better Jobs Ontario. The program will pay up to $28,000 in tuition and other costs for short-duration training programs, such as those offered at Private Career Colleges, enabling job seekers to better match their skills with hiring needs. The program is available to anyone looking to train for in-demand work, including those on social assistance, who are self-employed, gig workers, youth, and newcomers to the province.

These changes will help unemployed and underemployed people find meaningful careers in the community and support local business struggling to find workers.

In response to this announcement, Michael Sangster, CEO of NACC, stated: “NACC applauds the Government of Ontario for taking another positive step to help students to get back into the classroom and creating new opportunities for them and their families. These programs make a difference in every community in the province and our members stand ready to answer the call.”
