Newfoundlander New Head of Career Colleges Association

May 22nd, 2012 - A Newfoundlander is heading up the National Association of Career Colleges.  James Loder is a Director with Academy Canada, and has been elected as President of the National Association of Career Colleges.

Loder says of his priorities is increased access to non-repayable grants for students. He adds there are many important issues the board will be working on, including improvements to the student aid program, greater opportunities for people that attend college from abroad and enhancements to the apprenticeship system

Loder also says there has never been a better time to enter the workforce in Newfoundland and Labrador. He suggests that for graduates with highly-specific skills, there are considerable job opportunities in this province and across Canada. Loder says there will be many amazing opportunities on the horizon, as there is more talk of skilled labour shortages.

The Honourable Speaker of the Senate, Noël Kinsella, meet with former NACC Chair Dr. Michael McAllister and NACC CEO Serge Buy.
