NACC Educator of the Year

Also that night, there was a presentation for the Educator of the Year Award, which recognizes an educator at a career college who demonstrates leadership and passion for education and their students.  This year the award was given to Heather Hodgson-Schleich of triOS College Kitchener.

Since joining triOS’s Police Foundations and Law Security Program in 2013, she has had what has been described as a transformational effect on the program and her students.

Prior to joining triOS, Ms. Hodgson-Schleich served 17 years as a police officer in the Region of Peel, becoming one of the first Sergeants in the region.  She has obtained numerous police and management related diplomas and finally a Master’s Degree in Education.

Upbeat, eager, and inspiring: these are just some of the words that recur during student evaluations of Ms. Hodgson-Schleich.  NACC congratulates Ms. Hodgson-Schleich as well as all the great educators at career colleges across the country.
