NACC Applauds Government of Canada’s Investment in Aboriginal Education

“The National Association of Career Colleges congratulates Prime Minister Stephen Harper, Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development Minister Bernard Valcourt and AFN National Chief Shawn A-in-chut Atleo on the important announcement of additional federal government resources for First Nations’ education today.

The NACC has long believed that given the right tools, education and investment, students of all backgrounds can succeed in putting their skills to work.  With today’s announcement, we are pleased to see the Government of Canada’s strong commitment to addressing the unequal access to resources that has affected the quality of life of Aboriginal Canadians for generations.

The campus doors of our members have always been open to students who are looking to improve themselves and develop the skills Canadian employers need.  We especially look forward to welcoming Aboriginal Canadians seeking to do the same in the coming years.”
