Eastern College student wins Canadian Public Relations Society Scholarship – May 17

Eastern College student Travis Prince has been awarded the Canadian Public Relations Society’s (CPRS) Nova Scotia Scholarship.

Travis is an anti-bullying advocate who started Pink Shirt Day along with a friend at Central Kings Rural High in the Annapolis Valley.  He views public relations as an integral resource for advocacy around issues impacting kids and seeks a career in politics.  This is the first time that an Eastern College student has been awarded this prestigious scholarship.

Each year CPRS Nova Scotia awards a $1,000 scholarship to a deserving public relations student in Nova Scotia.  The scholarship seeks to recognize and support outstanding achievement by public relations students, based on their academic record, volunteer work and professional achievements.  It is also based on their ability to articulate why they have chosen to pursue public relations as a career.
