Dr. Kunin is one of those rare economists who can make the often-difficult subject of economics understandable and even interesting.  She was educated in Quebec and Ontario, finishing her studies with a Ph.D. in economics from the University of British Columbia.  The University of Victoria has granted her the degree of Honorary Doctor of Laws.  The Institute of Corporate Directors has granted her the ICD.D designation.

She has been awarded the Crystal Ball Award by the Association of Professional Economists, the Woman of Distinction Award by the YWCA and a Canada 125 medal for service to Canada.  She is a member of the Order of Canada.

Dr. Kunin is Chair of the Haida Enterprise Corporation and has served the community in many positions including Chair of WorkSafe BC, Chair of the Vancouver Stock Exchange, Director of the Business Development Bank of Canada, Director of the Canada West Foundation, Governor of the University of British Columbia, Chair of the Vancouver Crisis Centre, member of the National Statistics Council and Vice-President of the YWCA.  She has published numerous articles and books.

Brian Price

Brian Price will take you on his personal journey and highlight the lessons he learned along the way to becoming a 3-time Olympian, 3-time World Champion, 16-time World Cup Medallist, 2012 Olympic Silver Medallist and 2008 Olympic Gold Medallist.

Bio
Mr. Price was diagnosed at age seven with cancer, Leukemia ALL, and was given a new outlook on life at a very young age.  It took five years to beat cancer, but the chemotherapy and other drugs that he took left his thyroid only half functioning during a critical growth period, and he did not reach his full growth potential.  Standing at a mere 5'4” tall and 120lbs, it left him the perfect size to be a coxswain on a rowing team.  Although the battle to beat cancer was extremely difficult, it allowed him to become one of the best coxswains in the world, and Brian is adamant that “Without having had cancer I would never have become a 3-time World Champion and Olympic Gold & Silver Medalist.”
